Wedding day preview

Of course I can't show a picture of my lovely eldest daughter in her wedding dress. Not yet, anyway. But I can share this picture of my youngest son, 7-year-old Lucas in his tux. He's going to be the ring bearer! I didn't mean to show up in the mirror, but I did. I'm the one in the hat with the Blackberry. If I'm beaming like a proud mum it's because I am.

Doesn't my little man look adorable? Click on the picture for a better view. He's so worth it.

Thanks, WOP! The rehearsal is today and the wedding is tomorrow. I'm going to need all day Sunday to recover. But I am so excited. And so proud of Jessica. Her fiance, Brandon, is just greatest guy.

i've married 2 of my children and it's a real hoot to witness the good fruit of our long and tireless efforts to raise decent & caring human beings, specially as they begin the process themselves.

GRANDKIDS are everything and more than it's cracked up to be.

i LOVE your DA VINCI quote. as a designer i couldn't agree more. i now will use it every time i can!

I'm a facebook delinquent...

I should get my shit together, because I've already got one sale from that venue.

Anyway, the kids are doing spectacularly well. You won't find much news on my facebook page, but Nicole's might have some... actualy she has been mostly offline in recent months. Life is super busy.

In one month we begin Atticus' homeschooling... we're going with Enki.

Rosemary is challenging my "no-princess" mentality everyday. But I'm holding firm. She helps because she is totally no-nonsense, me-too, rough and tumble, and she's built like a brick shit-house. The other day I caught her in the kitchen doing a one-hand pull up to look into the silverware drawer and using the other hand to grab a knife. She's cute as a button though, and she knows it. This will be a long struggle.

WOP, that is an excellent quote, isn't it?

Per grandkids, everyone says they're great. I'm looking forward to one in a few years. If they're half as much fun as my own kids it'll still be a blast!

I'm so excited for Jess and Brandon. One of their friends made this awesome video montage of them and showed it last night at the rehearsal dinner. I tried not to cry but couldn't help it. It really captured the progression of their relationship. It was sweet.

Luke, I've never heard of Enki. I am impressed! We've cobbled our curriculum together for the last few years. I'm a big fan of this company http://www.criticalthinking.com/index.jsp

For math we use Saxon, tho. I like the concentric style of teaching.

Rosemary sounds like a princess alright - a warrior princess. Good for her. She'll keep Atticus on his toes.

Please do keep me posted on your homeschooling progress. It's an awesome journey.

How is Larry holding up?

Morgan said...

Larry is doing great. He wanted to give a toast but after Wesley and I finished he was too choked up to do it. Poor guy.

Oh my God how beautiful you and your family are. I loved your dress!! I think it is really hard to find the right one...it took me forever.

Your daughter looks so happy and in love. I also loved the photo the the two younger ones. I love family!

Morgan said...

Thanks, Diana. Can you believe I found that dress on the sale rack at the formal shop for twenty bucks? I almost didn't try it on because it looked so ugly on the rack. It was much better on!

Jessica picked her dress out very early. She's always known just what she wanted. My girl...
