Officially back on my feet....

.....and I couldn't be happier. It's been a long, boring summer. I advise anyone who is planning to shatter some bones to do it in the winter, when being immobilized is less depressing.

Fortunately, the weather is still nice enough down here through fall for out-of-door activities. Very soon I shall let you all know what I am up to, which I hope will include more regular blogging.

In the meantime, here is an amusing video:

Lookin good, Morgan! Congrats on your recovery.

Thanks, Luke! I have a much greater appreciation for the things I used to take for granted, like walking and driving.
Hope your summer was good to you, the wife and little Atticus!

Agreed - you look great! Now keep those bones intact:)

Isn't autumn great? I'm dying for this steamy Texas summer to ease up.

I've got a baby girl coming in 7 weeks. We're going nuts trying to get everything ready.

Thanks, Andrea. I'm being very careful. :-) And like you I am looking forward to the end to this heat.

LUKE!!!!!!!!! OHMIGOD!!!
That is such a coincidence. I had a friend over this weekend and we were talking about sons and daughters and I was thinking of that comment you made once about how you hoped you would have a daughter and how you'd raise her to be strong.
And now the Warrior Princess is almost here! That is such great news!! You have given my day the best start! CONGRATULATIONS to you and your whole family!

:) WE haven't settled on a name yet, but Atticus insists she will be called Dr. Suzu Moonie.

Morgan said...

Well, if Atticus gets his wish you won't have to worry about any other kids sharing her name when she enters school. She'll be An Original. Then again, no matter what you name her she'll be An Original. Just like her Daddy. I am so happy for you.

hahahahahahahaha wirx fir me! [the flick]

glad your mending continues, anon

riding a few c'boys should not aggravate the leg... too much ;) lol

Laughingwolf, my favorite part of that video was the end where it showed Cheney. That guy is off-the-charts creepy, so it was perfect.

Let's hope riding cowboys is safer than riding horses. It should be, since while I've gotten hurt coming off a horse I've yet to be injured getting off a guy. Pun intended.

BTW, it's good to see you over here, Laughingwolf. Welcome!

Welcome back, Sweetie :)

You look alive!!!

Damn, this whole ride a cowboy thing is all over the damn place.

Giddy up... I'm in like a thong!

Morgan said...

Hehe, Ice. You started it, with all that talk of country songs and leopard print cowboy hats.
In truth, cowboys aren't generally my type. My dream man is, oddly enough, Professor Snape.
And as I told Laughingwolf, it is good to see you here. Now I must add you to my Links page which I plan to update soon.

Yeah...I like to spice things up wherever I go... I just have to be careful when I go to my sons school... not the place to be spicey! haha.

You are lookin' great, my friend... I'm so happy for you.

:)

(hugs)

Is you child really named, Atticus?

(I really need to read these things closer)

Morgan said...

I like the name Atticus. It's quite close to my oldest son's middle name: Addison.

thimscool said...

Yes.

Lord Omar said...

Atticus loves Tribena so
Atticus walks her to the sto'
Atticus likes to hold her hand
Atticus's proud to be her man
Atticus stands for decency
Atticus means formality
Atticus's the epitome
Atticus stands for quality!

Lord Omar said...

C'mon, sing it with me! You remember the tune....

Endicott's carryin' a heavy load but
Endicott never really ever moans
Endicott's not a wealthy guy but
Endicott pays the bills on time
Endicott's got ideas and plans
Endicott's what you call a real man
Endicott always will provide 'cause
Endicott is the family type

(Why cant you be like Endicott?)

Morgan said...

Somewhere along the way I was obviously thrown out of the cultural loop. I don't recognize that song at all.

thimscool said...

Yeah dude, ya lost me.

Lord Omar said...

Kid Creole and the Coconuts? Edicott? No? Wow. Where did you guys grow up, North Carolina?

(psst...Atticus made me think of Endicott)

laughingwolf said...

thanks for the welcome... and i agree about 'the cheney'... perfect creep :(

thimscool said...

I grew up in Italy. I am aware of the King of the Coconuts, but the inspiration was, in fact, To Kill a Mockingbird.

But I'll let Atticus know you were brought to song by his name.

Lord Omar said...

Yes. Tell him Lord Omar sang him a lullaby. Hey, wait a minute, how old is this kid anyway?

thimscool said...

Three and a half.

Morgan said...

I grew up in North Carolina. Obviously it shows. ;-) But even if - while I am aware of the group - I'm not aware of that Kid Creole and the Coconuts song.
On the other hand, when Luke told me he had a kid named Atticus I instantly realized he's named him after Atticus Finch. So here's the current blog score for Morgan's Tar Heel Cultural Literacy
Literature: 1
Music: 0

Oh, and Atticus not only has a cool name, he is also cute as a button.
